I am very sorry to hear of your father's death.  He only had 5 months after
he was diagnosed?  I do not know if that is good or bad, but my sense tell
me that I wish he had more time.

It is nice that he was alert until his last day and that he was able to see
his brother.

I pray that he is in a better place now.  Thank you for letting us know.

I hope others will answer, because several here have experienced this
with their family or close friends and I have not. But, yes . . . your
father is facing severe pain unless his doctors are willing and
knowledgeable in its treatment. A lot depends on the medical rules in
Croatia and your father's willingness to accept being drugged to
unconsciousness . . . or further if appropriate. We must all realize
that there are things worse than death, and bone cancer is a good
candidate at some point.

Now, if that doesn't trigger more, different, direct responses, I've
misjudged this fine group. With any luck, some may prove me wrong.

Gioia posted that in January 2006.  He quoted his post a few days ago to
tell us that his father died during May 2006 and to thank all of us for our
help a year ago.

Sorry about that; I have no way of knowing that.
