Dr Soloway is one one the leading Uro surgeons in the USA-

He: an inch more and I'd be a king
She: an inch less and you'd be a queen

As the study below shows, penile length is decreased an average of 15%
after an RP.A prospective study measuring penile length in men treated with
radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer.

Savoie M, Kim SS, Soloway MS.

Department of Urology, University of Miami School of Medicine,
Florida, USA.

PURPOSE: Some patients report that the penis is smaller after radical
retropubic prostatectomy for prostate cancer. We performed a
prospective study which measured penile length before and after
radical retropubic prostatectomy. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of
124 men consented to penile measurements before radical prostatectomy
performed by the same surgeon. Repeat measurements were performed at
3-month intervals following surgery. Penile measurements (cm.)
consisted of flaccid length, stretched length, depth of prepubic fat
pad and circumference. Statistical analysis of penile measurements was
performed using the paired samples and independent Student's t test,
Pearson's correlation and analysis of variance.

RESULTS: Mean patient
age was 59.1 (range 42 to 76). No patient had a penile abnormality,
for example Peyronie's disease, or history of penile or urethral
surgery. The size of the penis was significantly smaller after
prostatectomy, and there was a significant difference for flaccid (p
<0.001), stretched (p <0.001), prepubic fat pad (p = 0.02) and
circumference measurements (p <0.01). Twelve patients (19%) had a 15%
or greater decrease in stretched penile length. When dichotomizing
groups at the cut point of 15% decrease, the independent t test of
prostate size was not significant (t[df 36.7] = -1.83, p = 0.076).

Nerve sparing was not significant in relation to change in penile
stretched length, (F[df 2, 62] = 0.501, p = 0.609). CONCLUSIONS: Our
findings support observations of decreased penile length after radical
prostatectomy. Men should be counseled before radical prostatectomy
that penile shortening may occur.

I wouldn't worry about it.   My tongue is 3/4 inch long and  I've never
had complaints about it being too short or not hard enough.

That said, as a relative shorty (a 5 incher), a couple gals have
mentioned that they prefer a longer guy.

Precisely why I married a virgin.  All she knows about other men is what
I've told her about what I've seen in gym, pool and club showers.  She can't
believe her luck!

Yes, it's fortunate for us married guys that women have no curiosity about
the male anatomy, and would never click to any of the 14,846 or so
newsgroups that post graphic porn images of women being entertained by men
hung like Man O' War, or the 19 bazillion porn websites whose home pages
will scald the phosphors off your computer monitor. And we can be equally
certain that our wives would never think to indulge our frail egos with a
harmless fib about never having seen either (a) another male's privates, or,
with a mere nod toward credibility, (b) another male's privates as large as
ours.

Steve's wife's real luck is being married to a guy as nice as Steve. His
luck is having a gal who understands that it doesn't take much to (if you
pardon the pun) prick our self-confidence! (g)

Cherish her, Steve, she's a winner!

I think most women simply do not care.   A few seem to but in my
limited experience, it's only about 1 in 4, very roughly.  If those
ratio's hold, just "hang out" with the other 75% of women.

-kh  "hang out"  haha.

Does the shortening of the penis occur after the "robotic proceure" also
????

I can't say I have much experience in this matter, but I've read that
the great majority of women don't care about the size of a man's penis,
and that in practice it makes little difference in terms of
satisfaction.  If I understand correctly, sensations are concentrated at
the opening of the vagina and the clitoral area.  Also, a penis which is
too large in girth may be painful.  In any case, for me, the only
important thing has been whether or not I could satisfy my wife in this
regard, and so far at least I've managed to do so.
