Kansas City Chief's owner, Larmar Hunt, died yesterday from prostate cancer.
He has battled the disease for awhile and was taken to the hospital after a
lung collapsed just before Thanksgiving.

Here're a couple clips from Google News about Lamar Hunt:

"Hunt, 74, has been battling prostate cancer since his 1998 diagnosis.
He had his prostate removed in 2003, and wrapped up a round of
radiation treatments last month. He still kept a 40-plus-hour work
week."  ... 12/7/2006 Kansas City Star

"Hunt, the son of a famous and wealthy Texas family, died at
Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas of complications from prostate cancer,
Chiefs spokesman Bob Moore said."   ...AP feed

"Hunt battled cancer for several years and was hospitalized the day
before Thanksgiving with a partially collapsed lung. Doctors discovered
that the cancer had spread, and Hunt had been under heavy sedation
since last week."   ...AP feed

He was one of the silver Hunts.   I didn't know that.

74 seems pretty young.  I guess he did "watchful" between 1998 and
2003.  Seems like it went metastatic, anyone know?

Hello,

>> He was one of the silver Hunts.   I didn't know that.

Recently, Silvio Berlusconi fainted in public and it was revealed that
he had had pca in the 90's.

Add to that Michael Milken, the chairman of Intel Corp. and now this
scion of H.L. Hunt.

Tiime to offer platinum memberships.

According to http://www.citizens1st.com/story.asp?idstr=101292498

"Hunt was stricken with prostate cancer in September 1998 and underwent
a series of chemotherapy treatments. In October 2003 he had surgery to
remove the prostate gland."

First time I've heard of chemo as a primary treatment. I wonder if they
meant HT?

This shows that having all the money in the world can't save us from bad
health. He was about as rich as anyone way back when.
