A.Q. Khan's condition stable: Pakistan spokesman
Submitted by aftababedin on Sun, 2006-10-29 01:45. Muslim World News

Islamabad, Oct 29 (Xinhua) The condition of Abdul Qadeer Khan, the
founder of Pakistan's nuclear programme, was stable, said an army
spokesman, even as reports said the scientist was taken to a hospital
after his health suddenly deteriorated Thursday.

"Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan is in good health and there is nothing
dangerous," army spokesman Major General Shaukat Sultan said.

He said that Khan was taken for a medical check-up and he was being
taken care of after his surgery.

Khan, 66, underwent a successful prostate cancer operation at a private
hospital in Karachi last month after he was shifted to that city for
the surgery - the first time he was moved out since his house arrest on
Jan 31, 2004 imposed by President Pervez Musharraf after allegations of
his involvement in the transfer of nuclear technology.

The scientist was shifted to his residence after a medical check-up and
he is under medical care, according to reports.

Reports said he had felt pain in the femoral vein and was shifted after
doctors suggested so.

The army spokesman said that doctors, who had conducted the surgery,
were taking his care.

You'd think he would have opted for radiation. :-)

Maybe he went surgery because he spent so much time around radiation.

Let's hope that whenever his time comes he takes his "recipe book" with
him.
