Has anyone been excused from jury duty due to the side effects of Pca
treatment,
frequent need to urinate on short notice, etc ??????

Absolutely, and permanently. When I got called several months post-RP, I
explained that I was incontinent, requiring frequent diaper changes that
could not be delayed. That, plus a note from my doctor ("patient has
prostate cancer") got more than I expected. I had asked for a delay in
jury duty; their response was permanent exclusion.

I have nothing against normal jury duty, but a) not a several-month
trial like some people get, b) not during my long sports season, and c)
not if I've got only a few years left on the planet.

Yes. A letter from my oncologist did the trick.

I got called for local jury duty when I was head gardener for a private
estate during my most hectic time of the year. Around here I just had to
talk to the judge and explain the situation and he granted me a
postponement. He also asked when would be a better time and I told him Jan-
Feb. Believe me, I had my notice for Jan- Feb. LOL

Bev (Praying I don't get called for Federal jury duty - that's one terrible
drive into downtown Norfolk!)
