0.1 is not undetectable PSA. =/< 0.05 is.

Beverley - 30 Sep 2006 03:46 GMT That's okay, Steve is still towing four months. LOL
And yes, <0.1 by some standards is undetectable depending on the test equipment. And maybe Jerry meant <0.01 If Steve can tow maybe Jerry can skip a zero. LOL Don't be too harsh on them. Bev

LOL I've never read that typing is affected by Lupron (and/or Casodex), but I am sure beginning to wonder.

dr2354 - 07 Oct 2006 13:28 GMT Steve - it isn't the effcts of the meds on your typing - it is the effects of the meds on your KEYBOARD. Mine has had the same issues! dr

For my congratulatory message, I took into account that they assay had 0.1 at the lowest point of the scale. If he had said 0.100, then maybe I would have acquiesced to Strumm's definition. As it is, 0.1 is as low as it goes and is as good as it gets.

JerryW - 30 Sep 2006 18:13 GMT Steve J:
Thanks for the blanket. Strum & Pogliano nothwithstanding, the lab (Quest diagnostics) and assay method (not hypersensitive) my Urologist uses reports <0.1 as *virtually* undetectable. With that reading, my Urologist has not recommended, nor am I inclined to pursue, further treatment at this time. I will, however, refrain from reporting to this newsgroup any future PSA results of mine not done using the hypersensitive testing methodology.
Thanks again for your support.

Please reconsider.

CIL - 01 Oct 2006 18:29 GMT Good news JerryW <0.1
The post from another source "0.1 is not undetectable PSA. =/< 0.05 is.", you stated that yours was <0.1 which could very easily and most probably does fall into the non detectable range.
Hope you have a great weekend.

Today I was > 0.1 again!
Next PSA draw in 12 weeks. Also learned that I am one of two in the trial continuing to show these results. Everyone else has re-started chemo after three consecutive PSA rises. So far, time of remission is double the average.

I will check in shortly with Ron's latest results as well, but they are pretty good too.
