I am scheduled for 9/18 for DaVinci RP, with a local,
University-affiliated doc who has done about 500.
If anyone else is in upstate NY, here is his site (stats on the site
have not been updated). He is doing about 5-10 a week.

Good hospital and good doctor. The first video robotic surgery that I've
watched was from Strong and preformed by your surgeon. (And I've watched
quite a few of them...luckily BEFORE my surgery). You'll do great.
Waiting for it to be over and done with was my biggest problem. Go in
the best shape that you can, it will help. Start leg work like light
squats to tighten up your pelvic floor muscles. It may help with urinary
leakage issues afterwards. Then it may not, but it did work for me,
along with the skills of my surgeon.

I couldn't watch all of the video. Suddenly I realized I was sick to my
stomach and lightheaded. Glad I never went into the medical field. Even in
HS I could not kill the frog for dissection or handle the fetal pig. LOL
It does sound as if you have found a real master of a surgeon. That is
exactly what you want when facing RP. I do hope that everything goes well
and that the cancer is confined.
