Are there any suggestions to reduce nighttime urination? I have to get
up about every two hours. I take saw palmetto and tried Flomax for two
weeks and nothing seems to help. I had seed implants for PC about six
years ago and this condition is not new.

When you figure it out will you let us know? Hubby is still getting up
multiple times through the night. Seed implants 4 years ago.

2 hrs is not bad. I oscillate between 1 and 2 hrs dependent on unknown
circumstances. I had HDRB 11 months ago and a TURP to ream it out just
7 wks ago. I don't need Flomax any more. The Uro Surgeon said the
Nocturia would persist for about 6 months with the intervals reducing,
but given my age (71), he said I'd be up 2-3 times a night anyway at
best.
Hint: Use a jug by the bed. Saves extra trips
to the toilet =(bathroom - US.)
I'm not so tired now and have gone back to work this week to see if I
can cope.

Glad to hear you've gone back to work. Sounds like you are feeling much
better.
Several years ago a friend and her husband went to Naples, Italy and they
insisted on a room with a private bathroom. Oh, they got one. It was a
beautiful bath. The toilet and sink (WC) were down the hall. LOL

We use toilet and bathroom (and restroom, john, head and toidy) pretty much
interchangably. Almost all American speak multiple languages: Candadian,
English, Australian and American. In the case of American, some speak it in
all the dialects.

That is some great news, CC

Best way is to limit fluid intake after 6 P.M. Also keep a liter urinal
on my bedside table to avoid injury gong to bathroom half asleep.

Bingo!! This works for me, too. It's rather difficult to remember not to
drink anything when you are "out on the town", but the good news is that
because of RP - I'm able to be "out on the town" not "in the ground"...

Thanks, Steve. I'll admit that I have been "lurking" less and less with the
feeling that "they got the bastard" and that I know you regular posters are
helping the newbies in "this club nobody wanted to join." But, the disease
and this group are never very far from my thoughts... Please accept my
continued appreciation for the time and effort you and the other
contributors do for this group.

A lot "moore", lately..... (lol)
Not that I especially like "hanging out" there - but, when the unfortunate
need to visit a busy public restroom happens to me, and I have to listen to
the old guys around me "straining" to get a flow of any kind going - I do
have an overwhelming urge to hand them a card with
"alt.support.cancer.prostate" written on it... As, I attempt to power spray
the enamel off of my stall... (lol) (I'm afrand they'd come back with how
great their cancer ridden sex life is, though... (lol)

I tried a couple of things. First, I eliminated all liquids from 5 PM
onward except for a 2 ounce glass of red wine. I also changed my salad
to lunch time. I still had to get up twice every night.

Try self-cath to clear the retention before retiring. It has worked for me.
It's quite easy once you get over the "Yuck Factor".

I got up every two hours prior to PC and now I get up every two hours.
I guess that's the way it is as you get older.
Too bad, it wasn't that way when my wife and I were young, sex at 2 am
and 4 am would have been great!

I think the guy said "Now it takes me all night to do once, that which I
could once do all night"

Don't drink anything after supper and self-cath before retiring. Works for
me.
