The xanthones found in the mangosteen have proven ability to destroy
cancerous cells, in fact, in a documented in vitro study, Garcinone E,
an xanthone, was more efective than the five most commonly used
chemotherapy agents for stomach, lung, and liver cancer."

In addition to being anti-tumor agents when cancer already exists, they
prevent and arrest cacnerous change at every step.  It is quite
impossible for us to aviod exposure to carcinogens and free radicals
assaults that follow, but the antioxidants and other active
phytoceuticals in mangosteen can provide protection form critical cell
damage.  They do this by regulating gene expression, repairing free
radical damage and blocking the production of tumor-promoting agents.

As a COX-2 inhibitor, for example, mangosteen blocks the production of
PGE 2 (prostagladin E2) there by impeding the promotion and the

attack tumor cells

The research part is interesting but the personal testimony I read was
even better.  A man in Minnesota was given between 3 and 6 months to
live because his cancer had metastasized and he had 5 lesions on his

lesions were no longer discernable on CAT scans and the remaining
lesion had been reduced to less than one centimeter in size.  A similar
