Hello again all:)
Today, I just made another Birthday (now 71 yrs old) approx 2 yrs out
from Dx (10 core Biopsy = 4xG8 -[4+4] plus 2xG7 - [4+3] - other cores
insignificant).
Tx in Clinical Trial 18 mths ADT, 23 fractions EBRT, plus 3 fractions
of HDRB.
Just had a TURP last month to ream out the urethra, some learning
here.
The PSA was 21.0 then and now <0.01 = undetectable . (but the ADT is
still working it's way out of my OLD body, so we can expect a bump
somewhere along the line .)
The SE's then were not too bad and now almost "unbearable" :-(
Seeing there are no Data on this treatment regime to date, I wonder
how long I've got to go?

Happy Birthday, dear friend!
I hope we can celebrate many more!
I'll toast you now even though it's not yet Tuesday, here. (I'm not into
drinking in the morning and by tomorrow night here your birthday will have
passed.)

Sorry I'm late. I thought today was your birthday.
Happy birthday!
Of course, it might be the 12th by now in Oz.

Aint it a bitch! All these new treatments are taking the certainty out of
Prostate Cancer.
Congratulations!

Happy Birthday CC!
After a wild ride, my PSA bottomed out (so far) two years
after HDR + EBRT + HT at .2. My last PSA at 2.5 years
was .25, but I don't really know if that's an increase or not
since the .2 was only reported to one decimal place. In any
case, I'm holding fast to the view that PSA continues to
vary a bit from time to time for radiation patients, and that
I'm still below the level for any alarm.
I'm guessing that when they finally release you from HT
hell, you'll be and stay at a pretty low PSA value. It will
be above the undetectable you've got now, but still very
low.
Regards,
Alan

Had my final shot of Lucrin (sim. Lupron), mid Jan 2006, so this is
the 2nd 3mthly blood draw from then.
One of the Senior Teaching nurses commented that it would almost take
the full 18 mths from the final injection for it all to get out of my
body, so I've got some waiting to do. She said a good rule of thumb
was X mths in and X mths out. That's why some of the other patients
on the 6mth Trial showed up PSA "bounces" earlier.
