Guys good news my PSA is heading south. One month after SRT I am at
0.24.
Doc says since it's only 1 month we probably hit target. Wonder how
long before I see nadir?

My post 2 days ago requesting information about AlphaDry was never posted.
Is there a problem with the NG? If not, this is a legitimate request for
information about the product by an NG member (me). My RRP was August 2005.
I have no relationship whatsoever with the company except as a prospective
customer and user of their product.

Look under responses to the note "Prostrate Prostate by Del "Abe" Jones. It
looks like you inadvertently posted your question there. There are a couple
of responses to your question.

It appears that Michael is unaware of the manner in which one posts a
new subject.
He should find instructions on that in the "help" section of his e-mail
server.
The way not to do it is to attach one's new subject to an existing
thread on a different subject, as he did upthread, and in the "Prostrate
Prostate" thread. That, as Michael has learned, causes confusion.
We all had to learn......

Hi, Mike.
I have no experience, but wanted you to know that this and your last posts
are visible. I've never even heard of it.

Dominic,
Great sign. From .95 to .2 in a month.
Lets hope it all was in the positive margin region and local.
Your headed in the right direction to <0.1
Looks like you will be there the next test in 3 months.
And may it stay there for ever.

Thanks Dave. While I am a glass half full kind of person after the
shock of having detectable PCA after RP (which I thought I caught
early) I am not ready to break out the champagne but I am cautiously
optimistic.

That sounds like an excellent start.
As I understand it, radiation does not kill the cancer cells immediately.
What it does is damage their DNA enough so that they have trouble
reproducing themselves, i.e., spreading. Eventually, the cancerous
cells attempt to divide, produce defective daughter cells due to the
damaged DNA, and they die.
I have read that with brachytherapy the process can take up to 3 years
to reach nadir, but I don't know what the numbers are for external beam
radiation.
It is possible that a cancer fighting diet will help tip the scales a bit
against the struggling cancer cells. The data supporting this theory
is weak, but there is some data suggesting that a diet rich in lycopene,
vitamin D and E, selenium, EGCG, and maybe some other things (check
the newsgroup or the web for suggestions) may help fight prostate
cancer.
I hesitate to recommend this to anyone because the data supporting
it is not of high quality. But for myself I figure that a glass of tomato
juice (lycopene) and some green tea extract should be very safe so
I think, why not? As long as we don't take things known to be unsafe
like megadoses of vitamin D and E, I figure it's worth doing. Besides,
it makes me feel like I'm doing something to fight the cancer and not
just passively waiting for my next PSA test.
Best of luck.
