Steve Kramer - 19 Jun 2006 23:02 GMT Had my visit, too, today. We discussed my PSA from 4 months ago (to recap my PSAs since starting hormones has been down, down, up, up, down and up. The last PSA was 0.132.
My doc isn't one to sit around a wait. He wrote a script for Casodex and, if today's pull is above 0.132, I'm to start it immediately. He believes, based on my history, Casodex with send my numbers to or near zero again. If not, in October, it's off to the oncologist and chemo.
I asked about my chances for living to March 29, 2011. He said that even without treatment, I should live that long. I'm glad I picked 2012 in the pool.

I'm having a blood draw tomorrow for a monitoring visit next week - 6 mths out from last Lucrin. Last PSA <0.01 = undetectable.
Will be interesting to see if my recent TURP, (06/06/06) has any effect on the PSA, due to the trauma caused by intervention. Just getting my pee-pee back to good flow today after a fair few fish-hooks went thru!

What date was that? You Aussies always confuse me with the month and the year... or is it the date and the month?

Well, Little Stevie Wonder......if you want to be really confused, go check out the above link. I am not sure what way we usually write it, but it seems it can be all 3 ways. Looks like "day/month/year" is the popular Canadian one. But, as an ex-secretary, I write out the Month first. (June 19, 2006).
However.....and you knew there would be one, grin........why not write it the way we genealogists do....so there is absolutely NO confusion.....
Today is ..... 19 June 2006
A hell of a lot simpler and no misinterpretation at all!!

[quoted text clipped - 13 lines] > > A hell of a lot simpler and no misinterpretation at all!! It was a joke, Heather. The date was 06/06/06. Not too many ways to misunderstand that unless one is over 100 years old.
Actually, I always liked the ISO standard... Right now it's 200606200630:09.00

I figured you had a wry twist on this, but just for the heck of it, I looked it up in order to see who wrote what and so on.
The ISO standard is as you say......but I have yet to see anyone using it. Apparently an overwhelming majority (poetic licence here) of Canadians use it.....not to my knowledge. (VBG)
Cheers....Heather
(and I dyed my hair red so I would *get* your dry sense of humour.....redheads do that better, lol)
friendofcurtis@yahoo.com - 21 Jun 2006 11:41 GMT Any idea why my post showed up twice? Did I do something wrong???
DonC - 21 Jun 2006 20:25 GMT > Any idea why my post showed up twice? Did I do something wrong??? Obviously you did! Now, what it was you did wrong is another question : )

The advantage is that it allows a computer to sort dates very easily.

It's a palindrome (even in Swahili LOL.)

Alan Meyer - 23 Jun 2006 18:54 GMT Best of luck with the PSA test Steve, and if necessary, with the Casodex.
Some doctors seem to prescribe a mix of Lupron, Casodex and finasteride (or dutasteride). You might ask the doc about that too.
If prayers, best wishes, good vibes, or fellow feelings make a difference, you've got a lot of that going for you from all of us.
Best regards,
Alan
