Post HDRB and after removal of the Foley Catheter, early Aug, 2005,
I've had very bad problems with Nocturia (1-2hrly intervals), due to
my having BPH  with gland @72 cc, in addition to aggressive PCA.

I have, all this time, refused to self-catheterise, due to my seeing
too many guys getting bad secondary infections of the urethra and
extending into the bladder floor. (I have emergency kits on s/by, but
never had to use them.)

Well, yesterday, was "D-Day" for me, and I'm booked for a TURP in
about 90 days time as a Category 2 Patient. (Category 1 is for
Life-Threatening Blockage etc. and Category 3 is for the milder
Elective cases, which have wait lists of ~12 months or more!

Even though, I was in a free Clinical Trial for the PCa treatment,
they over-cooked my enlarged Prostate with the HDRB just to be sure
they got anything in the Capsule, albeit bad or good Tissue. The
tissue that's grown back is now very healthy, but this TURP is not
without abnormal Risks, and is done outside the parameters of the
Clinical Trial.

I just hope I have enough petrol in the tank to come out the other
side of this one and get back to being a "regular guy" again LOL.

I don't write much, but I do read all your posts.  This past summer I
went through 5 weeks of external beam and then HDRB and just want to
let you know I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and wish you the best
of luck.
