Howie,
I'm very sorry to hear about your brother. I'm new here myself, had
prostate removed 03/13/06. But it started with a colonoscopy (turned
out benign in colon), but led to a pros. biop before the surgery. So
killed two birds with one cut. Before the operation (and the
determination that the colon was benign) I learned a LOT about colon
and prostate cancer. There are some VERY informed and smart people
here. I haven't seen many posts about bladder cancer. But surely
someone here knows something.
Good luck and GOD BLESS
David

He's better off on alt.support.cancer.
There's usually many other bladder cancer posters there.
In fact, a regular who had H&N cancer's father has it, so he'll help your
brother along.
Some links for careful reading for you and your brother are here.

Didn't he have prostate cancer earlier? If so, is this bladder cancer
or prostate cancer that has spread? My husband had positive bladder
margins so I'm afraid its going to spread to his bladder. laurel

He said he has stage 2 bladder ca...and it is confined to the inside of
bladder at this time..also when thy were in there with the instruments
to do biopsy they zappd the spots with a laser or some way of burning
the ca.. out. He has to go for immune treatments for 6 weeks the be
scoped again and again for rest of his life. He said all scans, CTs
xrays saw NO spread...

Isn't it awful? I am reading, "stage 2 cancer" and thinking, "how
lucky". But I know it is tough, and scary. I do hope they killed it
all and he can keep his bladder (and his life). What happens to us?
For 100 years (or 48), I hardly knew anyone with cancer. Now it is
popping up all over my life (not just these groups.) Best wishes for
you and your brother, Howie. laurel
