Good evening All,
Just got word from the VA that my PSA was non-detectable, as matter of fact
the lady at the front desk told me to wait while she checked to make sure
that the -0- was correct.
Briefly for those that don't remember or those that do not make copious
notes.
I failed the first PSA I had ever taken in June of 1996 with a reading of 5,
I was 46 years old.
I had 3 sets of biopsies, 1 here locally in middle Georgia and the 2 others
by Dr Clarke at Emory University, Atlanta Georgia. He found the cancer in
July of 1999, I was 49 years old. Dr Clarke performed the surgery August of
1999.
The results so far are what that I had hoped for. So I am thinking that I
did make the correct decision considering the age factor.
I know that I now take better care of myself and enjoy things a little more
than before. I watch what I eat, not a fanatic, but I try to watch fats,
carbs, sugar and eat a lot of fiber. Exercise more, walk 2-3 miles daily
with the very protective wife.
Wishing you all the best.
