I was reading your blog and gosh I sure hope you survive this. My PSA test was point 7 last week but now I know that I should get a DRE too.
Some people posted in one of these newsgroups that they saw success with other types of cancer by loading up on welches red grape juice (colorectal cancer) and a large amount of ginger (ovarian cancer). I don't see why you shouldn't play with that stuff too.

Anonymous,
If you're a serious lurker, besides a DRE, you should get annual DREs and
annual PSAs. Then, keep track of them. There was a time when medicine
considered 0.7 good as gold. But, Joe (joewbl@worldnet.net) was diagnosed
with 0.06, less than 1/10th of yours. Richard Stanton, KenS, PHD1993,
Temporary 452, and USCGamecock were all diagnosed with 0.7 or less.
This is not a scare tactic. To be honest, the average PSA of men here when
diagnosed was 56.3 (80 times your PSA). But, you and all other lurkers must
inculcate the new fact that it is the quickness of the rise of PSA, not any
arbitrary point along the spectrum, that points to cancer.

Yeah, once you get a couple of annual PSA tests, use one of the online
tools to calculate your doubling time. That will tell you more than an
absolute PSA value.

Key word: "play".
