Vanicream
Moisturizing Skin Cream
NDC 45534-300-01
For Prescription Compounding and dry, irritated or sensitive skin.

We got this from the pharmacist.  He uses it to make specialized
prescription creams.  It comes in a 1lb bucket for about $15, but I
assume s/he'd sell you an ounce (which is about what you'd need for a
couple of weeks.)

If this stuff is not bacteriostatic, it could be downright dangerous to
use it. But please tell us more.  I have been cathing for nine months
and am SICK of it.  Anything to ease the pain of it interests me.

I don't know about long term caths, but after RP our med team
recommended just plain old lubricating cream.  But it didn't last at
all, so we went with the neosporin-type stuff.

Actually, after another day it is not so magic.  At night, it seems to
work all night, and there's no hard crackly stuff that builds up (I'm
not the cath-ee here, so this is 2nd hand.)  So it was much more
comfortable at night.  However, it doesn't really seem to last any
longer than anything else, which is what he was hoping.

Condolences on your nine months with one!  I'm so sorry.  Why do you
have to have one so long, and will it get better?

regards,
