I'm ready to leave for the hospital. The surgery is scheduled for 2:30,
but they wanted me there at 11.  Laurel, Steve, Sandy, Dale, I.P.,
Curtis, Ron,....etc. etc. If I've left anyone out I apologize, but will
get back to you later. I'm taking a laptop and think they have wireless
connection there. If not, I'm sure I can find a phone jack....lol.
You guys have been great and I'll sure post back as soon as I'm lucid.
The Dr. said, because of the colon re-section I'll be there 7-10 days.
And I.P. and others have confirmed this. If it was just an RP they said
only 3-5 days.....oh well. I have a huge pool of family and friends to
bring books, I have my cd's and a portable player. All you guys that
have helped me, you guys hang in there. I now know that we are all in a
war. To win any war depends greatly on the support troops and wisdom
and experience passed down from the veterans and survivors. I don't
know where the frontline is exactly, but will be passing all the
support I can as I become a veteran and survivor.  Well,I have a few
more letters to write.......so......God  Bless All and I'll be back
(on-line) then in the saddle soon.
David
p.s. If you any of you have any single female friends that could handle
just getting to know a guy, with out sex for a few months, tell her to
drop me a line.......lol

My day is Thursday, so I know how the wait feels.  I'm with you on passing
the support back along the chain.

The very best wishes to you for a successful and speedy recovery.

I'm not sure from whence you hail, Dave, but I'm going to synchronize my
prayers for 4:30 EST (assuming most cowboys are two hours behind EST); for
you, your family, and most importantly today, your surgeon.

Still thinking of you, Dave.  We trust all went well.  If there is
wireless, you might see this.  At any rate, take care and may you fart
all day!

During my hospital stay during 2000, I stayed in touch with a 56k modem and
AOL*.

I don't know how to use my new laptop's modem with my current ISP.

* This should not be considered an endorsement of the piece of crap,
take-over-and-crash-the-computer American On Line.  I'd rather have prostate
cancer than put it on any of my computers again.
