I was pre-registering at the hospital yesterday for my colon resection
(that's what they're calling that now) and RP. They took a chest x-ray
and said there is a 7mm spot on my lung. I've had 5 chest x-rays since
early Jan. and nothing else showed till now. The uro said he didn't
want to prceed withe RP if there is something there. A nurse told me it
might just ba shadow from a nipple. They're taking new x-rays today and
going to "mark" the nipples. I told them I'd seen this episode on "Sex
and the City" ....LOL.
Why would they not proceed with the RP because of this spot? ON THAT
there is no question, the prostate is clearly full of cancer. I'm tired
of waiting, the hospital is 65 miles away,. It seems like I have to do
EVERYTHING 2-3 times before they make a decision. We are up to 1 uro, 2
colon/general surgeon drs. , 2 oncologists, and 3 radiologists. I have
good insurance and feel like it's getting milked. I don't care, but
sure tired of waiting. The hip bone pain is getting worse and I KNOW
the prostate needs to come out.
Laurel, it sounds like Steve is doing well....that is a very upbeat
thing to hear:) Keep on a rolllin!!!

Because if you have mets already, or primary lung cancer, the cancer in
your prostate is of little consequence, so why put you through surgery
for it?

Keep your fingers, toes, and ears crossed for the outcome of the lung
and pelvis studies.
