I deferred my R tkr for the whole 18mths of ADT including EBRT and
HDRB, due to the weakening effect of the Hormones.
Plus I also had a previously popped cartilage damaged (minced up) in
my L one from rough handling during the Epidural for my HDRB. Now I've
deferred an Arthroscopy on that one too as I need "weight bearing" on
both legs whilst I straddle the bowl 6-8 times/night. waiting to
urinate weakly, plus normal daily calls with a partially blocked
urethra from the HDRB. I'm trying to schedule a TURP for that mid May.
this year.
Your circumstances may not be as drastic as mine but I'd recommend
your looking at NOT doing it at least whist still under ADT (Lupron),
unless you have the constitution of a BULL! lol.

I am now confused. I have had my knee scoped while on Eligard (Lupron) and I
am currently on 4 of 5 injections of lubricant (synthetic synovial fluid).
Both procedures suggested and approved by my Medical Oncologist and
Orthopedic Surgeon.
Why is there concern? I do not understand.
Thanks

It's not a concern just a question. I just want to know if anyone had this
kind of operation while on Lupron.

In a short reply, NO!
If you're in doubt, factor in all your pre-existing ailments plus any
current side effects you may have from your TOTAL PCa treatment
regime, then take it to ALL your Doctors, and discuss your Immune
System's capability of coping with MAJOR Surgery like a TKR.
The other guy who replied has only had Arthroscopy, which is a MINOR
procedure compared to a TKR.
Pardon me for bleating before LOL
