I'm 2 1/2 years out of surgery and much of the time I can't tell
whether or not the bladder is full.  I know it's full upon awakening in
the morning and some days it aches due to the fullness and other days I
feel nothing.  Either way, I dump a full load in the bowl.  During the
day, I still leak walking around so the bladder rarely fills.  I do
occasionally feel fullness after sitting for a couple of hours but not
all the time.  Finally, when I do feel an ache from the full bladder,
it has a different feel to it than before surgery.  There is now an
edge to the pain whereas before it was more of a dull ache.

As was written before...the pulling and prodding...the cath, etc...all
cause the bladder to lose it's sensitivity.

Usually it comes back in a number of months...but as judamd (Dave) tells
us...sometimes it's longer.

Maybe some nerves were damaged?

I don't know but I wish you the very best,

Ron B.
