I am 18 months post-RRP. I previously posted that I had pain throughout
my groin for about 30 seconds after a dry orgasm and wondered if this
was due to the sperm ducts being cut during an RRP. My urologist
recently told me that this pain is due to muscle contractions squeezing
the area around the prostate duriing orgasm, but with the prostate gone
the muscle contractions cause cramping pain in the groin area. It is
common for men in a prostateless state, but he doesn't know the
percentage of men who have these symptoms. Just another "feature" of an
RRP (minor compared to not being able to have sex at all).

Thanks for the info. I've wondered how this works. I don't have
the pain.
I went rad. I still produce about a quarter teaspoon, maybe a
half teaspoon of semen.
What's disappointing is that it sorta oozes out after orgasm.
I suppose that the volume is so low that all the clenching and
squeezing only serves to, ah, load the urethra.
Oh well.

I had it and here is how I analyzed in a 10/1/04 post:
"I had a dull ache in my rectum but it stopped after a few months. My
theory was that it was the pelvic muscle, which makes a violent
contraction at ejaculation. Normally it would be like squeezing a
water balloon, the balloon acting somewhat as a shock absorber, but
w/o a prostate the muscle perhaps overcontracts and suffers a small
pull.'
Sounds like I was on the right track. However, in my case it was long
gone by 18 mos.

Same for me now at 12 months post op. Feels like a pole shoved up your
butt during orgasm. (Not that I've really experienced what that would be
like first hand by the way). Seems to be somewhat less painful now, but
still there. Definitely has something to do with the muscle contractions
in that area.
