I'll totally endorse that!
There's a great yawning gap between all the specialist oncologists,
urologists. anesthetists and the GPs (PCPs).
This week, for the first time since the op, I'm going to see the
Urologist who did my HDR Brachy Implant in mid July this year. The
last words I heard from him before the ceiling spun were "Let's have a
look at this Prostate".
A day after the Brachy, an Indian intern told me to go home wearing
the Foley catheter for 3-4 wks. A senior female Continence Advisor
then briefly spoke to me, gave me a bag of tricks and sent me on my
way. I've been having partial blockages and retention all the while up
till now.
The point I'm here, there's no DIRECT line of communication back to
the Uro, from my Senior Rad Onc who's running the program.
Then there's the GP (PCP) who gets a very terse letter from the Senior
Rad Onc, saying I survived the Brachy and voided satisfactorily after
3 wks.
No one will admit the ADT and the EBRT has caused Lymphedema in my
legs.
No one will admit my spine may have been damaged/aggravated when the
Epidural was administered.
