Well it has been 16 weeks since I was seeded and I just got the
psa reading (taking at 14 weeks), it is 1.4 down from an initial
4.57. Was checked for retention and had only 7cc in the bladder.
I have experienced all the normal side effects, urgency, burning
and interrupted sleep over the last 16 weeks.
In the last 2 weeks the urgency has gone down to where the sound of
running water doesn't send me running for the nearest head, the
burning has dropped off and I have been getting up to 4 hours of
sleep before I have to go.
Still on one Flomax a day along with Aleve.
Thanks to the group for all the support and guidance.

That's great, John. Was that your first PSA? Or are you tracking that
curve all you brachiaks like to see?

John,
1.4 is certainly in the right direction. Did your doctor say
anything about the number? Is he happy with that?
All radiation takes time to work, and brachytherapy takes
even longer. Hopefully your PSA is on a downward curve
that will take you lower still.
Did you have brachytherapy alone or with EBRT? And
did you get the Palladium or the Iodine seeds (Iodine
has a longer half life and takes longer to work).
Best of luck with it.

Alan,
Yes my urologist was real pleased, also seemed surprised that it was
that low for the first PSA.
I had 83 Idoine seeds and no EBRT. I'm less than 2 weeks from the
second half life, started with 48 milicuries so will be down to 12
soon.
