Has anyone had  this test ? If so, can they tell me about it ? Thanks
Howie

Several times.
You save all your pee for 24.0 hours in a couple of jugs.
The real question is . . . what type of 24-hour test? Mine were 5-HIAA tests
looking for carcinoid tumors. This particular test requires special dietary
restrictions for four days, and the labs and doctors who have given it to me
don't even know about the restrictions. But there are several types of 24-hr
tests.

Howie:

From what you wrote...your test is probably for microalbumen.

A more sensitive look for protein.

I had one too. Saved 24 hours worth of urine in jugs.

This was before the PCa.

It was looking for protein in the urine.

Howie...Like IP said, which 24 hr. urine test?  I had the pyrilinks-D.
I pissed into just one jug, that had some chemicals already in it, for
24 hours.  You also keep the jug refrigerated (keep it separate from
your juice bottle :) ).  It seems that Sunday is a good time to start
the test (at least for working folks), and then on Monday return the
collection bottle to the doc...Best wishes and good health...Ron

I had to argue with them to get two jugs. Convinced 'em by saying I'd bring
in a milk jug WITH their jug if they didn't. I fill two of their brown jugs;
with one I'd have had to extend the 5-HIAA test dietary restrictions and
start the test again. Safe, sorry, and all that.

I filled the one jug up to the very very top.

Which is WHY you are "I.P Freely."

Sounds like they're looking for protein spilage?  My wife has a rare
kidney disease that pops up very infrequently, but that's the indicator for
it. Luckily to responds to steroid treatment.
