Speman gives hope to childless couples:

The improvement in total count and motility was significant and was
comparable with other series treated with either gonadotrophins or
mesterolone or testosterone or clomiphehe citrate. In 77 cases women
became pregnant with Speman and Tentex forte therapy in their spouses.
There were no side effects.

Improves sperm count, motility. Corrects male infertility. Reduce
prostatic enlargement.

Speman promotes spermatogenesis by improving the testicular, seminal
vesicle and epididymal functions. Speman improves the sperm count and
the quality of semen by increasing the LH-FSH producing basophil cells
in the pituitary.

Composition
Each Speman tablet contains:

Pdrs. Salabmisri (Orchis mascula) 130mg
Kokilaksha (Hygrophila auriculata Syn. Asteracantha longifolia) 64mg
Vanya kahu (Lactuca scariola Syn. L.serriola) 32mg
Kapikachchhu (Mucuna pruriens) 32mg
Suvarnavang (Mosaic gold) 32mg

Extrs. Vriddadaru (Argyreia speciosa Syn. A.nervosa) 64mg
Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) 64mg
Jeevanti (Leptadenia reticulata) 64mg
Shaileyam (Parmelia perlata) 32mg

Speman is a herbomineral formula that has shown excellent results in
cases of common benign prostate enlargement, a condition known as
B.P.H. (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) affecting more than ½ the men
above 50.

It is a combination of herbs, which have decongestant,
anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties. Patients experienced free
flow of urine which was hypothesized to be secondary to the reduction
in the size of the prostate.

Dosage

2 tablets 2 to 3 times a day, initially followed by a reduced
maintenance dose.

Speman was orally administered at a dose of 2 tablets twice a day for 3
months to a group of 40 infertile men. Marked improvement in the semen
picture was seen in 67.5% of patients and moderate improvement was
observed in 22% of the patients. Ind. J. Surg. (1976): 1.34

Side Effects

Speman tablets are not known to have any side effects if taken as per
the prescribed dosage.

boy!!!  do i smell spam frying up......

gotta question bright boy?   how does someone who has his prostate
removed or destroyed from radiation father kids?  how does your snake
oil produce - cure prostate cancer?    these are the questions the
viewers want to know.

and your lame stats are really something else.  take your
statement......In 77 cases women became pregnant.......   than what?
was this a blind study? what was your data base?  what overall % became
pregnant?  what the the avg age of the female?  i could go on with more
questions, but these won't get answered.

how do you claim your product works when it is "hypothesized"?

why is the reference you make your stats in another part of your ad,
date back to almost 40 years ago? don't you have any newer material than
that?

come 'on - from the smell of that spam cooking - it should just about
done......for.......

those two questions still stand.

how does a man who has a radiated prostate or no prostate father a
child?  and how does this product help or cure prostate cancer?

that is the prostate CANCER newsgroup you are posting in.  i hope you
understand what that means.

in case you don't understand, i'll spell it out for you since you are in
another part of the world.

it means that we are going to DIE from prostate cancer unless we get
treatments to kill the cancer.  this treatment usually means that we can
not father children, so why are you placing an ad of this nature here?

there are some other points to consider.

your study list men ages 25 to 45.   we are in our 50's and up.

next point - there is NO semen to collect as sample because the
treatment destroyed that part of our lives.

so what good IS this product to a prostate cancer patient?

INTRODUCTION

Infertility is one of the most demanding and social problems, perhaps
one of the most tragic problems of marital life.

MATERIAL AND METHODS
Three hundred and seven patients with primary or secondary sterility
came to the special clinic. Each patient and her husband were carefully
examined. They were between 22 to 45 years.

Semen was collected initially at regular intervals.

OBSERVATIONS
After 3 months of Speman therapy and follow-up for 1½ months, the
total sperm count and motility were observed. No other drugs or
treatment were given during all this time. The total count rose and the
motility improved remarkably. To our great surprise 50% of the couples
conceived after 1½ to 2 months of treatment.
In 2 patients, after recanalisation of the vas and the appearance of
sperm, the administration of Speman increased the total sperm count and
motility resulting in conception. Only syphilitic patients showed a slow
response after prolonged treatment.
CONCLUSION
On Speman treatment alone, the patients responded remarkably well.
Speman is economical and very effective. The tablets are small, easy to
take and without any side effects. The response was excellent in
properly followed up males.
To sum up, Speman increases the sperm count and motility and brings
about a rapid conversion of spermatocytes to sperm.

Curtis, I don't want his spam either but I'm not sure your premise is
correct. All it takes to tango is an egg and a sperm, and sperm is not
produced by the prostate gland or anything else that is directly
affected by primary PCa treatment. I have not heard of this being done
but I don't see why sperm could not be harvested from the testicles via
a biopsy-type needle and the woman artificially inseminated. Not nearly
as fun as nature's way but it might work! It amazed me that no one ever
suggested that I should bank sperm prior to my surgery in case I wanted
to have kids thereafter.

Bill,
That suggestion has been made, hundreds ( if not more) of times to younger
men who have had one reason or another to visit this group. Maybe, you're
catching up to me (and a host of others who won't admit it)  and are
afflicted with CRS.
Have a nice day.

"That suggestion has been made, hundreds ( if not more) of times to

15 since 12/99. The point is that I was 51 w/ no kids and the topic was
never mentioned by my uro.

"Maybe, you're catching up to me (and a host of others who won't admit
it)  and are afflicted with CRS."

What is CRS?

What about the artificial way I suggested - anyone ever heard of that
being done?

Concur.  I suspect the reality of it is most people get prostate cancer
after they have finished fathering children and most would not to father
another knowing the chance of his not making it out of his teenage years
with a father.
