Stuffy nose on beta blockers

I've noticed since I started taking Flomax that my nasal passages seem
a bit swollen. It's harder to take good strong breaths through my nose
when hiking, say. No extra junk in my nose, just the passages narrowed.
My pharmacist told me yesterday that this is a plausible side-effect of
taking both Flomax and Proscar. More a nuisance than a problem, and she
says my body should eventually adjust and go back to normal. Thought I
might mention it in case anybody else was experiencing the same thing.
I am quite sensitive to Flomax, which I had to cut back to one every
two days, because of dizziness. Your results may differ.

Thanks for pointing this out Paul.

Anytime a drug is involved with blood flow...there is a possibility of a
stuffy nose.

You said it correctly in that there are no extra SECRETIONS...just
smaller nasal passages.

Thanks again,

Ron B.

(Hiking?  Good for you.  :-)

Paul,
Flomax  (Tamsulosin) is NOT a Beta blocker, but it is am Alpha blocker,
some oral ED medications are contraindicated if you are taking Alpha
blockers, not to mention any Nitrates, check with your Dr.(s) if you have
any intention of trying any oral ED meds.
