Tadalafil therapy

Awhile back I mentioned that I was going to try taking Cialis (Tadalafil)
every day and see what effect it would have.

I have been taking 10mg at the same time every day, in the morning along
with my other medications (aspirin and Mavik for blood pressure).

Well! It seems to be working. If there is no stimulus there is no
reaction and the therapy appears a failure. However, any stimulus at all
will cause some tumescence and strong stimulus will produce an erection
adequate to the job. I do not appear to have any side effects like
headache or other aches and pains, visual effects and the like. After
some six years it is  avery nice feeling to know that if something
intersting comes up I can deal with it, with spontaneity.

Now, of course, at 74 the libido is far from what it was at 24. Things
visual and tactile that would have set me off back then generally get a
yawn today. But still, there are days when libido waxes more than it
wanes and it's nice to know that its needs can be attended to.

That's wonderful that you've  gotten a reaction so quickly.

I take 20mg of Cialis every oher day as per my doc and though I have
orgasms with manual stimulation...it's about 5 months after surgery and
no erections yet but hopefully this will help the blood flow and
recovery.

A note: as with all of the oral ED drugs, (not the injections) they
don't produce erections without stimulation.

Some guys can get erections from visuals,...some post-treatment guys
need contact.

Best wishes to all,

Ron B.

I do not know what Cialis costs.  Doesn't frequent dosing get expensive?

David S. wrote about daily Cialis dosing...

"I do not know what Cialis costs. Doesn't frequent dosing get

Indeed.

A month's supply at 20mg every other day can run...and this is a GREAT
price...about $160

Not the generic brands from other countries. They would make it more
affordable.

I do it pretty often (double ON-TAHN-DRAY there..:-) but not always
EVERY other day.

Rationale?

Well, from time to time the news runs stories about how much folks spend
per day on a Starbucks and a muffin, etc.

$5-$10 bucks...sometimes.

I'd rather try and get a jump start on the penile blood flow and spend
my $5 THAT way.

Plus you figure in discounts on adult movie rentals, and lube...and,
uh,...it's a JOKE...a joke I tell ya.

It certainly would be if you use the branded product at about $10 a pill.
Anybody notice that there is no pricing difference whatever between the
three products: Viagra, Levitra and Cialis? So much for market forces.

However, the generic of Cialis, Tadalafil, is available from foreign
sources at far less cost. I paid $150 for sixty 20mg tablets. These are
scored for easy splitting into 10mg units. That's 120 doses at $1.65 per
dose. Quite affordable for daily therapy.

And if you try to get a roll in the hay for buck sixty five downtown, yer
likely to get more than you paid for.

How does one know which foreign source is reliable?  I have seen here where
people sent in for Viagra at $5.00 a "dose" for four "doses", $20.00, and
what they got was one pill cut into four pieces.  So they paid $20.00 for a
ten dollar tablet!

Also, what is the legality of buying from foreign sources?  Can we get into
trouble buying from them?

Thank you.

Yes, I have seen lots of that. You must be careful. There are web sites that
grade and rank these sources. Good place to start.

So far as I know, no problem. The Levitra generic I first ordered came in a
blister pack of four. It cost $35 plus shipping. Not a big saving. The
savings come with dramatic quantity discounts. The product arrives in a plain
brown envelope with Indian postage with no delay.

The Tadalafil came in fifteen 4-tablet blister packs in a plain envelope with
a standard prescription drug package insert detailing composition, uses, side
effects, etc. The medication has the trade name Tadacip. I have found the
customer support people very responsive.

My source is Canada-based XLPharmacy.

A few comments on the generic ED drug thing:

I think Gogarty's approach is pretty sound in that he's not talkng about
those sleazy online spammers offering "Vy-garia" and "See-al-iz" or
other butchered-named, questionable items.

There are some folks who just don't trust a generic drug no matter WHAT
(even U.S. drugs made by the same companies as the name
brand)...but...if I was getting some sort of result (erection) from the
brand name...I would be more willing to give the cheaper generic drug a
try to see if it worked as well.

Unfortunately, 5 months out from surgery (still early) the Cialis 20mg
every other day hasn't produced an erection yet.. though I hope the
blood flow will be helped as I heal more.

At THIS point...I'll stick with the brand but if and when I see an
effect...I'd give the generic a shot to see if it did the same thing.

I think the biggest risk with foreign drugs is not that you might not
get as much active ingredient, but that you might unknowingly get
unwanted harmful ingredients.

As with anything else, check out the source.

I was on Cialis therapy for 9 months after my surgery.  The proper dosage
per my docs was 10mg every other day.  Taking 20mg daily may be a bit much -
remember - Cialis is a 36 hour drug versus Viagra which is only good for 4
hours.

Sandy mentioned that 10mg of Cialis every other day may be a better
dose.

True...but there IS the 20mg tab which I use.

The doc thinks it's OK so I guess that either would be OK depending on
the individual treatment.

A question regarding Ed meds.  How many are taking an ED med because their
doctor believes that it will be beneficial for them in regenerating the
nerve bundles even though you may not have a partner?  My uro prescribed
Viagra the day I was discharged knowing that my girlfriend had recently
passed away.  When I asked him about the prescription he said it was to
increase blood flow to the nerve bundles.  At my last appointment he
switched it to Levitra.  Anyone else taking any Ed med for it's possible
therapeutic affect?

Also, I get almost all my meds from the VA.  I wonder if they cover ED
drugs?

"Jackie" <asked>

My VA prescription for Viagra netted me two pills. That's obviously for sex,
not therapy. I'm not even taking it for sex, let alone continued therapy,
until I research the nature of its threat to our eyesight, no matter how
rare. I read that threat is ischemic, and I already have occasional short
duration blind spots of ischemic origin.

I'm one who is taking Cialis 20mg every other day (per my doc) to help
recovery and hopefully help blood flow.

I'm not planning to go out cruising the bars.
