Surgery on Friday morning went great (1 hr 15 minutes).  Dr. Partin
used the words "perfect surgery" with my wife and pastor.  Now we await
the pathology report that should be in sometime in the next couple of
days.

Was released Sunday morning from the hospital but stayed in Baltimore
until Monday afternoon getting room service at the hotel and watching
Lefty capture another major.  1 hr flight home went without
complications.

Biggest issue for me was getting over the anesth/narcotics -- took me
until well into the afternoon on Saturday but once they cleared the
system I was like a new man.

Thanks again for all the info, support, and prayers from you guys since
that dreaded June 22 news.  I'll keep you posted on the path
reports.....

Age at Dx -- 37
PSA at Dx -- .7 (yep, you read it right)
Clinical Gleason Score 6 (3+3)
Clinical Stage -- T2b
RRP -- 8/12/05; Dr. Alan Partin (Johns Hopkins)

1 hour and 15 minutes?  I think that sets a record, at least for this list.

Congratulations on your good initial report.

Congrats on a great surgery and trip.  Was your surgical team
double-parked?
james_wv@hotmail.com - 17 Aug 2005 21:16 GMT
One more thing - forgive me if I missed your diagnosis story but how
did they find your PCa with a PSA of 0.7?  DRE?
USC Gamecock - 17 Aug 2005 22:29 GMT
It was found during the DRE.  Family doctor found it assymetric so he
sent me to a Urologist who found the nodule.  A second Uro didn't find
the nodule, but the surgeon (Dr, Partin at Hopkins) found it and
classified it clinically (before surgery) as T2b.

No symptoms, nothing.....just in for a routine physical cause I hadn't
had one in many years.  Asked family doc to do the PSA and DRE because
of family history.  God surely was watching over me to lead me to ask
for the tests.

I think, were I you, I'd send your family doctor a Christmas Card for each
of the next 50 years.
