This news story,
http://www.kfmb.com/stories/story.18989.html
which DO NOT pertain to Prostate Cancer, ends with the following
paragraph; which is news to me:

"There are many drugs that can cause cancer, including cancer-fighting
chemotherapies, immune-suppressing medications and radiation therapy."

You betcha'.  The majority of children "cured" of cancer either get
another cancer in early to mid adulthood or some other disease
resulting from immunity suppressing medications and or chemotherapies
taken for their initial cure.  Of course radiation of any kind and at
any level produces an increased risk of developing some form of cancer
in later years.  Specific to this newsgroup is the threat of
colon/bladder cancers after radiation treatment for PCa.  Fortunately,
with recent major improvements in focusing this threat is greatly
reduced.  In early years though my uncle was treated for prostate
cancer with radiation in the mid 1980's.  He developed colon cancer
about 10 years later right in the area of maximum radiation exposure
for his prostate cancer.  He died of a massive heart attack a few years
after that.  So, if it's not one thing, it's another.

Ben,  Any therapy that suppresses the immune system can lead to cancers
later on.  Radiation therapy causes secondary cancers as well.
Chemotherapy drugs are basically poison...poison that affects tumor
cells more than normal cells.  They also suppress the immune system.
One of the most important functions of the immune system besides
fighting bacteria and infection is eliminating cells in the body
identified as "not me"...namely cancer cells.  When this ability is
restricted, cancer is more likely to occur.
