Can anyone tell me if the side effects such as chills & sweats disappears
after stop taking Lupron for Prostate Cancer? If so, how many months does
it take?
Thanks in advance

Alot will depend on how fast your testosterone level comes back up. From the
comments of others here 1 to 2 months is the norm. In my case it is taking
much longer. 3 months after stopping Lupron my testosterone level was only 9
(nine) versis a normal level of about 165 and I still had daily flashes.
After 6 months I still have flashes several times a week so things are
slowly improving.

In my case, too. Had my last shot of Zoladex in February, and I'm
still plagued by hot flashes and weariness. But things are slowly
improving here as well.

It takes weeks to months to never, with the latter more associated with
advanced age. The Lupron/Zoladex/ADT-in-general SE issue is very complex,
and IMO requires very extensive research in the literature and in one's own
priorities. Strum covers SEs in the greatest detail I've seen yet. Equally
important and complex is the flip side of hormone therapy (ADT): its
benefits. I spent hundreds of hours researching the ADT issue, and it was
worth every minute for one simple reason: both my life (benefits) and
quality of life (SEs) -- two almost independent factors -- depended on my
decison.

5 months after my last "3 month" injection my testosterone started
to rise and the side effects began to abate. In about another month
my testosterone was back to normal. I had had a total of one "1 month"
and one "3 month" injections.
I've read that recovery from the effects is different for different
men and takes longer the longer you've been on it. However I've
also read that it's very rare for someone who has been on it less
than two years to fail to come back to normal. Even after that, most
men do come back to normal.

My last 3 Mo. shot was in Oct. 04, still felt some residual effects through
April 05.

Sweats, yes. Chills? Never had them and never heard of anyone having them.
My sweats were usually minor and, if I recall correctly, disappeared after 3
or 4 months. I've been on the stuff for two years.
