Incontinence returning years later?

I was one of the lucky ones, and had no incontinence after just a few
days following RRP.

Obviously like everyone else, there are moments when sneezing, yawning
or bending down that I feel I might lose a drop or two, but in practice
it is more a feeling of possible weakness than  a reality.

I do wonder whether with advancing age, and knowing things are not as
strong as they once were, some incontinence might return, and might
even  become a serious threat years in the future.

Anyone else thought about that?

I'm sure you know of many cases of seniors with this problem. Every big
drugstore has it's own aisle for adult diapers. Why worry about such things
when you're cancer free and have many years left to have fun? Go outside and
take a nice walk instead!

Yeah, I have.  We have only one sphincter left--- just like the women---but
we havent had a life-time to exercise it.  I gather that as women age,
urinary incontinence is more and more common (moreso than with men who are
born with 2).  So I would imagine that as we get older, chances for urinary
incontinence are greater for us than for men who have not had RP's.  Just my
thoughts.  Nothing scientific to back it up.

To be honest I had not thought about that.  Of course, I am still
incontinent now, so I guess that is not the same for me.  I do know,
however, that a couple women at work took pity on my plight and shared with
me that they too have a degree of incontinence.  The one is only 47.  Guess
normal aging does affect the ladies so why not the guys?  I would not worry
about it though.  Of course I would like to be fully continent again, I
would also like a BMW, but other than not being able to get in the public
swimming pool there is nothing that I cannot do and I do not spend my days
thinking about it.  Willie not working in the other department, well, yes, I
do think about that.
