two nights ago I was driving in to work and tuned in for a brief time to a
radio show that I hadn't listened to for a while. the host was talking about
Cancer treatment and such and asked that anyone that was terminal and was
young with young kids to call and gave his producer's voice mail. I called
an left a brief message.
Today the host called me. He said he missed a digit on my number so he
called variations until he got me. He said that I WAS THE ONLY ONE TO CALL!
others called and left goofy messages and hung up but my call was real,
we spoke for around 30 min. Curt and I will be going to the host's home
Friday evening at 5 pm to meet him and some others with illnesses and have
an opportunity to meet a man who was cured in Peru 6 yrs ago of Liver
Cancer. I will give more details after we meet them.

I called Curt and told him and it sounded like he was crying and I asked him
if he was and he said that he had a lump in his throat. I know that miracles
do happen and it seems like fate that it is working out like this. Even if
this doesn't work -it will- it is the last option and worth a try.
cross your fingers.
This came a  perfect time because Curt has been entering dispair. His
brother won't work with him anymore, I kicked him out, he feels like crap,
his isn't strong enough anymore to carry carpet rolls by himself so he is
quite a bind. I believe he is near bottom and that is when miracles happen.

wish us luck on this.

Yes.

Consider it done.

As well as such prayers as I can muster.

Miracles come to those in most desperate need, its your turn now. Even
if this treatment is not for you if your spirits are lifted and hope is
put back into your heart then a miracle has been gifted to you both.
I wish peace and harmony to you both and pray that you are granted the
strength to carry on. You are quite clearly a devouted deeply loving
couple who have become the victims of this uncaring, soul destroying
cancer.

Curt called the guy in CA last night. I stopped by where he is living to
bring him some meds. He talked to him. they kind of felt each other out on
the phone. (as opposed to felt each other up <g>) sorry 3 night shifts in a
row with a total of 9 hrs of sleep. I am headingoff to my mom's. She lives
on a lake. to allow the kids to enjoy ""my" childhood. fishing off the dock,
swimming when it's just a tad bit too cold etc. while I sleep for my 4th
night shift in a row. gotta make money.
OT: I got a counterfeit bill at Rainbow foods yesterday. a $10. it was very
thin but good work. I told curt and showed him and he handed me a $100.
definitely needed. but anyway. the first recommendations of this guy was

no pork
no eggs
no salt
no dairy
drop his effexor in half (for hot flashes)
a few other things that my mind is too shot to remember.
I am making many typing errors but my anal inner English teacher won't let
them stand.

Curt is going to suspend chemo for 1 month to try this out. it is supposed
to show measurable results starting in 14 days or so. I am not sure if he is
going to do the Vitamin D also. In medicine it is best to change one
variable at a time to evaluate effectiveness.

Thanks, what a kinder, gentler world we have over here in ascp. over in
alt.support.cancer someone tried to sell me a bridge <g>

but really, the show wasn't about cancer or anything like that. this guy's
show is zany and funny and a bit off really. he just went off on a tangent.
so maybe it really is kismet.
although Curt was supposed to come here today to fix his trailer and help me
trade in our new lawn mower. it appears that whoever's job it was to put on
a spring was talking or hungover or something because the told me at the
local small engine place that a spring broke because it seems that it was
installed backwards. something about the way it was broken and that would
explain the belt  falling off all the time,(different belt) because the
tension was wrong. puck me! I can't catch a break and I thought today was
going to be so good. I was across the street from the hospital this am. I
work in the ghetto in Minneapolis and I was waiting in line to get to the
window to buy a paper (they don't let you IN the store. the clerk sits
behind bulletproof glass) I saw a guy drop a wad of cash on the ground and
picked it up and gave it to him. the guys behind me were shocked that I
didn't pocket it. I said "no way, it's not that I don't need the money but I
don't want THAT coming back at me later" x3 with my luck. so I was having a
great day. My 4th night was over. it was a beautiful sunny day, still is.

then Curt is supposed to come over and help me but he was "too tired" he
wanted to do it tomorrow. I have a wake to go to tomorrow for my friend
Kim's Dad who just died of colon/liver cancer and I have to work a 12 hr
night. btw I just finished 4 night shifts in a row and I am still up and
running. He DID have enough energy that he was going to go GOLFING later! I
was HURT. he didn't want to talk about it so said goodbye (aka hung up on
me) then I called back (stupid) and he said "I don't want to talk about
this" and hung up (without a goodbye). then turned his phone on. I cried a
while then I called his phone and left a message very rationally telling him
how I felt about it and that I don't care if he golfs after he helps me (I
don't have a trailer hitch on my van) but he told me Monday that we would do
this Saturday and I am sick of him not keeping his word to me. when he
called me Monday eve at 730pm and asked me to pick up and bring him his
actiq (fentanyl) suckers I did it. I stayed 20 min and went home. so I
expect an appointment he has with me to be kept.

He called me and said he'd be up to do that and I said thanks and that was
it. but that was like 3 hrs ago. I don't know if he listened to his message
from me or not. he's not here yet.  . then I think. 'ok, there was a
birthday party where he is staying. a bunch of 10 yr old girls. he said they
finally quieted down at 6 am. he probably hasn't had his regular meds since
the evening before. blah blah blah. I can make that argument for him.

damn tho. I wanted him to see Sam being punished. after his friend and him
sprayed a wide path of WD40 down the tar driveway, lit it on fire and
skateboarded through it in the dark. sounds like a great stunt but it made a
huge mark so they scrubbed it for an hour yesterday and today Sam had to
squeege 20- gal of driveway sealer to cover the whole driveway in 86F
weather while all his friends rode their bikes on the jumps next door. and
there is a new HUGE approach hill just put up today. bummer, he could see
them and they could see him. He also can't have a friend stay over night for
1 month. that's a pretty good punishment I think

so just when it seems like it's going well. it goes belly up.

well, at least my driveway is sealed and looks a nice uniform black.. LOL

take care all
Lori

Good thing I didn't mention swampland  <g>
Some of the folks on ascp don't like crossposting, so I'll reply separately to
the rest.
