Hi Guys-  I've been on the 2 captioned drugs since February 11 of this
year.  I just had a brainstorm about the hearing loss I'm experiencing
in my right ear and  checked Google for a link between it and the
drugs.  Sure enough, there are several entries.  Have any of you
experienced hearing problems from the drugs, and if so, did they
reverse after discontinuing the drugs?  Thanks in advance.

I haven't heard of this, but you can call the companies
that make the drugs and ask them.  I think they're supposed to
keep records of side effects.

If they do have some record of this side effect, ask them if
it goes away when the drug is discontinued, and ask if there
is any recommended treatment or technical explanation that you
can give to your doctor.

They may not tell you anything, but it's worth a try.

I've asked automatic transmission shops whether my transmission needs any
work. The only shops I believe are those who say, "Nope. It's fine. Ask us
again next year."

The only drug manufacturer I'd believe is one that said, 'Yeah, we're
starting to see people go deaf on this med."

I'd check sources less motivated to lie about it.

I hear you.

Did you hear the latest - that some guys on Viagra have been going
blind?  I saw it on CBS News last night.

What happened . . . poke their eyes out? Mommy's warning proved valid? Blind
in one eye? No blood remaining for their optic nerves?

Sometimes I think it's impossible to be too cynical about drug
companies.  However I did call the makers of Lupron when I
started feeling arthritic symptoms in my hands.  I asked if that
could be caused by Lupron and they said Yes.  And "joint pain"
was also in the drug packaging literature posted on their web
site.  Of course none of us ever see that literature if we don't
go looking for it because we don't buy Lupron at the drug store.
Our doctors get it and inject it into us and never give us the
package inserts.
