Just a subject for conjecture..A Friend Had his Robotic procedure this
past week at Detroit. He stayed at the Hosp to have the catheter removed
after 7 days, and says he is almost totally continent.
I got antsy at the same location and came home to have mine removed
after two weeks.
Is it possible ( if medically acceptable) removal of the catheter
earlier is more conducive to earlier continence?
It makes sense the longer the tube is in, the more the uretha accepts
the larger orfice and thereby takes longer for the Kegals to overcome the
difference.
Just wondering.

I, on the other hand, have been wondering how much the modern trend to
remove the catheter earlier and earlier may contribute to development
of strictures.

good point P.headland. Would be interesting to see how others feel on
this subject. I know many of the surgeons are stating 2 weeks past
surgery, and then some are doing it sooner. Wish there were some
statistics.
