Subject: Pilot testers needed for NCI brochure

Dear Colleagues:

NCI/OESI's draft of the new version of When Cancer Returns is almost
ready for pilot testing. We would like to pilot test the brochure with
people who have been diagnosed with a recurrence within the past year.

It would be greatly appreciated if you would either give the attached
announcement to people with recurrent cancer if you think they might be
interested, or post the attached announcement where patients will see it
until May 31, 2005.

If you have further questions, feel free to contact the toll free number
listed on the attached flyer.

Warm Regards,
Louise Cunningham, MPH

FLYER:

We'd Like To Hear From You
The National Cancer Institute (NCI), a federal agency that is part of
the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is developing a new booklet to
address questions and concerns of people with recurrent cancer. We would
like to hear your reactions to the booklet.

If you have been diagnosed with recurrent cancer within the last year,
and would be willing to read the booklet and then spend about 30 minutes
on the phone to let us know your opinions, please call us toll-free at:

1-888-249-0029

We will ask a few questions to see if you are eligible to participate.
If you qualify, you will be contacted at a later date for scheduling. To
be eligible, you should not be a health professional or employed in a
healthcare setting. All participants in an interview will be paid for
their time. Participating in a study involves a total of 1 to 2 hours.
