Although I'm new to this group I am a four-year PC survivor (radical
prostatectomy and focused-beam radiation therapy). I understand the
terminologies used, but being new, I do not know to what extent the
discussions have already taken.
FWIW, I just discovered a weblog:
prostate-help.blogs.com/prostatehelp
that offers much useful information for those with prostate cancer.
A small booklet that I found extremely helpful, easy to read and understand,
is published by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), 31 Center Drive, MSC
2580, Bethesda, MD 20892-2580. The NCI also has a toll-free phone number,
1-800-4-CANCER, from which it may be possible to obtain this booklet, NIH
Publication No. 96-1576, "What You Need To Know About Prostate Cancer." I
have not used the toll-free number nor have I investigated to see if the NCI
has a website (but I'd be surprised if it didn't).
My apologies if this is all "old hat" to readers here.

I was afraid that the site might cause some difficulty although I copied it
(and accessed it) exactly as I presented it here. If you are still
interested, prefix the line with "http://" and it may do better for you.
