Internal staples

When John had his cystogram to determine if he was healed enough for his
catheter to come out, we discovered that there were several internal staples
in him.

Just the other day (2 years later) John finally got up the nerve to ask his
doctor why they used staples internally (as opposed to dissolving stitches).
His doctor said that they do that to save time because sutures take much
longer.  When John told me this I said "In other words, for THEIR
convenience!"  John didn't like this either.  He's the one who is going to
have to live with these staples.

It sort of reminds me of this Ob/Gyn in Marina del Rey, California (close to
where we live) that our chiropractor told me about who insisted on doing all
his deliveries by c-section so he wouldn't be stuck at the hospital several
hours.  Just venting.  Thanks for listening.

I'd like to add that the internal staples appeared to have been sloppily
done. It looked like a med student who was doing his or her first staples
had done them.

Drop on in and vent anytime you like, Debbie.

My doc used dissolvable stitches inside and superglue on the outside.
