Yes, you will have what is called a dry orgasm.  You do not have to wait
until HE comes alive. You can have an orgasm without becoming erect. To
quote my doc "use it or lose it." It can be a lot of fun. My wife and I
haven't laughed so hard in a long while. You might ask your doc to
prescribe Viagra 50mg or 100mg every other day for 30 days it helps the
blood circulation. My doc said that the studies show that the men who
started Viagra early had a better success rate for natural erections
eventually. It might take 2 months-2 years before the erection returns.
Don't get hung up on it. Have fun with what you've got. Thank God you're
alive and with a  wonderful understanding wife or partner. 8 weeks out of
surgery and having sex about every day since week 4. Try it you might like
it! :)

Actually, aint that dry. It all eventually DOES come out, just not at the
moment you normally had it come out.

You can have orgasms with the wee one, erect or not.  Some claim the
orgasm is different but just as good, my experience is that it is
pretty much the same except for a few instances when it has been
actually better.  Achieving an orgasm with a limp Willie is different -
no more stroking, more like manipulating a walnut betwixt thumb and
fingers.  The tubes that carry sperm to the prostate are cut similar to
a vasectomy so sperm is reabsorbed, not redirected to the bladder.  The
fluid you see in a normal ejaculation comes from the prostate and that
of course will be absent - no prostate, no fluid.  Hence a "dry orgasm"
except for a possible squirt of urine which many on this newsgroup
report.  Use it or lose it is good advice.  Go solo or with a partner
as often as you like.  If wee one never stands tall, you will miss out
on only a small part of the whole experience.  Go for it.

Howie, there is one good think about a rrp, and that is you no longer
have to suffer through the dreaded "wet spot".  Stop and think what
happened before you had the rrp:  You first had an orgasm and then you
ejaculated.  You will still have the orgasm (and I believe it is more
intense) but you will not ejaculate.  The sperm goes nowhere because
it's route has been "replumbed".  BTW, you do not need an erection to
reach orgasm.

I had no problem achieving orgasm a couple of weeks post-op. Erection . . .
no way, but the other system still works. Howzit feel? Not like it used to,
but way better than nothin'. The downside: we squirt urine instead of sperm.
Upside: urine washes off easily.

Actually, no sperm & gooey stuff ain't so bad sometimes, according to
the wife. No erection yet 3 months post op. Still waiting "patiently".
Make sure the bladder is as empty as you can make it before attempting
any sex. Different sensation in my case, but I'm sure nerve bundles are
healed completely yet. Hopefully, more improvement is yet to be
realized, or else there are a lot more hobbies out there that I just may
investigate and pursue!
Bob Anthony - 24 Mar 2005 04:32 GMT
that's not completely healed yet, I hope.

Yep, retrograde ejaculation. I discussed that with someone I know who has
had the operation and he feels it isn't satisfying.
judamd@aol.com - 24 Mar 2005 17:34 GMT
Retrograde ejaculation I believe occurs when the ejaculate from the
prostate is squirted back up into the bladder when there is some kind
of urethral malfunction or blockage due to any number of causes.  In
our case, with no prostate, there is nothing to go upstream
(retrograde) or downstream.  Zilch, nada, nichts.
