Probably because neither the Uro nor his staff ever got treated for
PCa. You've got to get it from people who've been through it.
I am particularly fortunate since the Dr. who treated me is about 4
years my senior (58 to my 54), and also a PCa survivor who had the
same treatment (IMRT). Neither of us can bullshit the other.
My final word on sexuality after PCa treatment:
On the planet Lollipop in the Pollyanna galaxy, there is a long
waiting list of healthy males for voluntary surgical removal
non-cancerous prostate glands, because of enhanced sexual pleasure and
experience post RP.

the way I chose to look at it was that the surgeon brought forth his/her
skills and did their job. After you are sewn up though it kind of gets out
of their province.

So what gives them the chutzpah to advise us so stridently on initial or
salvage treatments? I had to write my oncology team several very condensed
pages of rationale to convince them there are valid reasons I don't want HT
just because my Grade 8 might return some day. I expected an argument from
at least SOME of the board members, but not one faulted any of my dozens of
facts, opinions, choices, and suggested protocol. Some even said it provided
some new insights on the PC arena, and this group has written a PC book and
the boss had RP.
I wish docs in general wouldn't be so insistent that there's only one
solution in issues as complex as this.
