I had a Prostatectomy in 1999. For the past 3 years my general practioner
has been giving me a PSA test twice a year at my request. My PSA has been at
or below 0.03 since my operation. How often should the PSA be taken after
five years? Any recommendations from your URO?

Dave...I suspect that many urologists would say once per year.
Assuming you make your decision on an informed basis, then, IMO, the
answer turns on what "you" are comfortable with, . There is certainly
no harm in testing more frequently...Best wishes and good health, Ron

I just passed the two year mark in Dec 04 and upon that successful PSA
test my uro said I can switch to once a year. So my next PSA will be in
Dec 05.

My uro's 'plan' was PSA quarterly for two years, semiannually for two and
annually for the rest of my life. That was, of course, assuming <0.1 PSAs,
which never lasted long in my case.
