My husbands oncologist has referred to my husbands PCa as Stage T3b. I
never really paid much attention to the staging until today when I ran
across some literature which addressed the different stages. My
husband per path. report had seminal vesicle involvement as well as
bladder neck extension. I believe my husband really falls into Stage
T4a not T3b. Has the classification system changed recently or am I
reading it incorrectly?
Thanks,
Sandi

Sounds like T4a from what I read at:
http://tinyurl.com/4pja7
It would be T3c if it had not reached the bladder neck.
T3 Tumor extends through prostate capsule
T3a Extends through one lobe
T3b Extends through both lobes
T3c Extends into seminal vesicles
T4 Involves structures other than seminal vesicles
T4a Invades bladder neck, external sphincter, or rectum
T4b Invades muscles and/or pelvic wall

Sandi,
I have not heard of any adjustments to the scale. Don posted an easy
to follow scale for the grading.
My PCa was not quite as advanced, T2C. Keep us posted on your husbands
progress report. We will keep you guys in our prayers.
Thanks Don for the link.
