Dr. Walsh said in his book that for some people, Pca is just a bump in
the road. I have now put myself in that category. I went skiing
yesterday for the first time in two years at Big Bear, California and
it was great. I am 5 1/2 months post-RRP with a PSA reading of 0.03
three months post-RRP. Pre-op PSA 6.2, Gleason 3+3, age 66, all PCa
containted in prostate at post-op biopsy. I will be monitoring my PSA
over the next decade, but I am in the 98% bracket for non-recurrence.

Congrats, Jim.  I'm going in for RRP in 48 hours.  Age 52, PSA 114, Gleason
(3+4), all tumor markers, bone scan, CT scan clear, all indications are
transition zone, contained.

Best of luck John.

Good luck to you, John!!
I had my surgery two years ago... it was *much* easier than I even imagined
it could be!  Most aggravating part was the catheter for the few weeks
afterwards.. not painful, mind you... just aggravating to carry around.

Next week this time the worst will all be behind you!

Take care!

John,
For me, the worst part by far was waiting between the diagnosis and
the surgery. You are almost done with that. Good luck.

Congratulations!!  I too feel the way you do.  I'm now 5 1/2 months post RRP
and it's not slowing me down.  Okay, I've got some issues with peeing too
frequently and dribbling when I pass gas.  also, erections are now drug
induced, but, hey, at least I can get and maintain and erection!!  haven't
gone skiing yet this season, but it's in the plans.  BTW, a skiing accident
is how my PCa was discovered, last February.

I am now 100% continent and have donated my leftover pads to the
Goodwill. I am doing OK in the erection department with Cialis
(although not like pre-op, at least it is sufficient for penetration).
It is supposed to improve over the next two years.
