Hi All....

Today the Toronto Star had an 8-page Special Section on Prostate
Cancer.....and most of the articles are at the link below.

Click on the link under the one entitled "Science Plots How to Cut Out the
Surgeon's Knife".....a very interesting new technique that they are trying
that is way less invasive and can be used on failed radiation patients.  It
is more than halfway down the page and is called Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)

Quote.....
A revolutionary new technique that uses a similar approach (referring to
brachytherapy) to the delivery of treatment is now being studied at Princess
Margaret Hospital, the first hospital in the world to begin clinical trials
on photodynamic therapy or PDT.

Curtis......this has to be part of your wish to see more attention paid to
this disease by the media.....I was totally amazed to see it!!

Cheers......Heather

Heather,
I thought the articles in the Toronto Star were great and appreciate the
link. I have no idea as to whether or not  they will print my letter to the
editor, but I did compliment them for doing a heck of a  lot more than any
major paper in this area ( NJ )

Thanks, Tom.  I thought it was absolutely marvellous!!  And I will watch for
your letter to the editor.  They do like getting the American viewpoint on
stuff, so won't be surprised if it is printed.

I had one printed earlier this year (with our picture yet) on our Federal
passport fiasco.  Plus I did write a couple on PSA fees ($27 here) after the
Gov't. Health Dept. idiot said they were free to those who had Pca....duh!!
Those two didn't make it.

Can't remember how many millions the paper reaches, but the Greater Toronto
Area is well over 5 million people.......which makes this even *sweeter*.
What super coverage for Pca and the various treatments, etc!!

Cheers.....Heather
