Elisabeth,

I am curious about the subject of your PhD, and the university
granting it.

My personal view of "alternative medicine" is that it is
dangerously misconceived.  My favorite definition of science
is that it is "common sense made systematic."

I have a lot of trouble finding an "alternative" to that that
justifies any confidence in it.  Is it the method of scientific
testing that we need an alternative to?  Is it repeatability
of experiments that we need an alternative to?  Is it the
need for coherency in our theories that we need an alternative
to?  Is it objectivity in our observations that we need
an alternative to?  Is it statistical analysis that we need
an alternative to?  These are all the foundations of
scientific medicine and if we throw any of them out the
window, our "alternatives" don't look very attractive to
me.

I wish someone would give me a definition of "alternative"
medicine" that shows there is any reason to take it seriously.

after checking out your group and the different sites, i came up with a
few things i will agree on.

yes, i do believe that there is something to the body mirror system.  it
is known that laughter is the best medicine for a long time and a good
positive mental attitude does promote the healing process and is well
documented.

but to say that the body parts do not work together when they are part
of the host makes little sense.  if, for example, a person had one foot
that has a disease in it, the theory is that this one part is not
working with the rest of the body and one needs to bring harmony of well
being into the body in order to heal.  well, the rest of the body is in
harmony except that one foot.

so, if we have a foot that is diseased, a prostate that is diseased and
it has bring disease to other organs of the body, are we saying that the
body is in disagreement and basically has declared a mutiny and it going
to overthrow the mind?   are we saying that one needs to get into
atonement with life's energy's forces to become aligned with the kie of
life in order to become healed?

what seems to be out of focus on this picture is very
simple.........everything below the eyes serves everything above the
eyes.

but again, that is my opinion......

perhaps, one might consider focal point mediation.
