I had LRP on Aug 24th and am recovering fine BUT I have noticed a marked
increase in sweat with any effort.  Have any of you had a similar
experience?  I am wondering about Lymph node removal side effects or ??? I
live South of LA and it's been hot but man, this is a lot of sweat.

Bob,

I once had a paraplegic living next door (shot in a robbery attempt in
1957).  He had no feeling from the chest down.  When he had bed sores or
once a broken leg, he sweat like crazy.  He knew he fell out of the chair
and when he started sweating, he knew his leg was broken, so he went to the
hospital.

You have a hell of a lot of cutting inside you and no pain.  I suspect you
are sweating because you're body is working hard to heal.  It takes 6 weeks
for external healing and 6 months for all internal hearing (possibly less
with LRP).

To answer directly, I sweat like a horse.  thought I had a fever, but rarely
did.

I am writing on behalf of my husband. He had a resection of the
prostate nearly a year ago, and was treated with Zoladex. After 9
months the side effects were so bad (flashes/flushes being the most
serious, he has them up to 18 times in 24 hours) 7 weeks ago the
medication was stopped, but the side effects continue. Blood tests
show no thyroid or hormone problem. The surgeon has never had a patient
like this, can anybody comment if they too have experienced these
problems.

I have been on Zoladex for nearly a year , and I have experienced similar
side effects (and some more!!!). I could sleep for up to 1 hour and then I
would be woken by high body  temperatures, ( my temp varied from 96.3f
to 103.7f) .Like your husband I had 12/18 hot flushes in 24 hrs., and little
sleep.
I was ready to give up .Then complained to my G.P. He prescribed CYPROTERONE
tabs 50mg. One a day for 30 days .They done the trick.
That was 4 months ago , I feel as if I will be soon needing some more ,they
must be wearing off !
I hope this helps as I know what he is going through.

You JUST had surgery - your body is recovering - of course things that
used to be easy to do will make you sweat now -- have patience and
give yourself a break -- it's WAY too soon to be worrying about stuff
like that yet -- don't sweat the small stuff.
