It has been 2 1/2 years since my RRP and I still have a problem with
incontinence. If I have to go really bad I involuntarily start to go
sometimes quite badly.  I wear undergarments or pads constantly.  I'm
getting sick to death of it.  Has anyone had a similar problem with a
solution?

Not sure if this is something you would want to consider, Gary, but it's
worth a look.

I still have leakage problems one year out from surgery and my uro
suggested a simple (at least simple to him) surgical procedure whereby
the bladder neck is tightened up a bit.  I'm not so bad off that I
want to do anything yet, afterall it was my last surgery that got me
here in the first place, but you might ask your uro about it.  In
addition, if I make it a habit to go to the bathroom whenever I'm near
one whether I need to or not, I can pretty much eliminate the
accidents.  Now down to 1/2 to 1 1/2 pads per day.  Good luck.

Sounds like a Cysto. My mother, sister and brother all had that procedure. I
watched 4-5 done during my surgical rotation in my Respiratory Therapy
training. simple little day procedure. I'd ask for a uro with a "light"
touch because you are sedated and intubated. I've seen both ways and had to
walk out a few that seemed a bit "aggressive" .

I must have dodged that genetic bullet, along with the degenerative disc
disease.

This seems like a significant side effect. My heart goes out to you.. I look
into the surgery. they just tighten the sphinter with a type of 'snugging'
up.

Hi Dave Perry!
Long time no see it seems.  I am averaging two pads a day.  Sometimes I
get by with one, but it seems that most of the time by late afternoon it is
time for a change.  I was scheduled for a cysto in August but canceled.  The
uro said that the procedure could cause problems, and he did not seem very
confident that even if he saw something in there that he could do anything
about it.  So why bother?  I may still opt to try in a couple months because
I am getting tired of this.  Over a year for me now.  The surgery was August
1 last year.
Take care.  Good luck to you.
   Thank you.
