To coincide with my 1 year RP surgery, is my 26th wedding anniversary.
(What does that women STILL see in me anyhow?).... I just got my PSA result,
lab just switched to hundreths, and still undetectable at about 0.02 or so.
As expected the anxiety is temporarily over, and I am elated.  Thanks to all
the input I get from you all, I was well prepared in the event of a bad
result. That's very comforting compared to when I was 1st diagnosed and in
the dark.
I am continent except for sneezing and coughing, which may never
improve. I cross my legs, look like a sissy girly man, but it works! Small
price to pay in my opinion.
I get can get full erections and am able to have sex. A tiny 25mg of
Viagra makes it work even better, and it is slowly and steadily improving
all the time. I still urinate a bit during orgasm, but I'm working on that.
I haven't had a spontaneous or nocturnal erection yet, but that may be the
final stage? What I'm trying to say is that is isn't perfect, but I'm very
thankful at how far I've come in one year.
Thanks again to all you club members for your support and various
ramblings. I as well am glad to contribute and make you laugh from time to
time.

That raises a question for me.  I had my RP on 5/1/02, and I am one of the
lucky ones....having been basically continent from the get-go.  However,
last week after taking 50 mg of Viagra, there was a tiny bit of stress
incontinence (not with sex).  Since Viagra does affect the involuntary
muscles (my uro said that's why there is heartburn afterward for some
people), I wonder if it in any way interferes with continence.  Has anyone
else noticed a difference in continence after using Viagra?

Oh, what does she see? A very wonderful, kind, loving man. Someone who will
persevere in spite of the odds, a creative artist, a man with his feet
planted firmly on the ground. Shall I keep going or is your ego inflated
enough for now? LOL
Congratulations on a fine PSA!!!!!!!!!! May you have another 40 years of
such numbers. It's been a long year. But worth the hard work to get through
it.
