The Emcyt with my first Taxotere a month ago caused violent diarrhea. We
overcorrected this with imodium doctor's directed dosage - and my gut
stopped working. When it began again, with explosive diarrhea, I began a
constant low-grade rectal leakage of clear fluid - and never tumbled to
the diagnosis until this morning. I awoke passing urine per rectum, and
called my urologist to tell him that I now have a rectovesical fistula;
I am a cloacal animal. With constant dependent drainage today I have a
dry bottom for the first time in a month. Cystoscopy did not show the
hole, but a cystogram next week will identify it precisely. It will not
be reparable, as of course it is in malignant tissue. If I had more time
we might think of some sort of diversion, but for now I will stick with
the indwelling, and with comfort.

Hi Larry,
Thank you for the detailed report. Seems you should be in the driver
seat.
Sorry for the difficulties, and I understand cloacal. I raised chickens and
turkeys.......It all comes from one source.
I am not sure about more time, and diversion. and indwelling.
Anyway, wishing you good indwelling and comfort.

Larry,
I'm really sorry to hear of this latest setback. As you know, I'm kind of
new to this newsgroup so I'm not fully aware of your history. That being
said, this last bit of news sounds most disheartening. I do know you've been
down a difficult road with this disease.
I can only wish you good luck, at this point, and offer my thoughts and
prayers.

I'm so sorry Larry!
Is it possible that the fissure will close on it's own? Or is there not
enough properly functioning cells to do so?

We must assume that malignant tissue will not heal itself. I am more
comfortable than I have been in a month, and that is most important now.

You're a real trooper Larry. All of us can learn
something about courage and objectivity in the
face of adversity from your postings.
Best regards,
Alan

It must be fasinating to know exactly what's going on. I dont' know if it's
better or worse, but certainly fasinating.
