You're going to do great. As I've let you know privately, us younger guys
have a very good chance at a full recovery. You're Doc is one of the best
and Sloane is a great place to get it done. At 4 weeks out, I wear a pad
only at night and if going out for hours on end . Erections are coming
along. I'm now back at work for a few hours each day. I note progress
weekly.
You're gonna do fine - remember to walk and then walk some more...

Good luck Glenn. Sloan-Kettering is a good place to have your
surgery. Keep in touch....

Waiting, I think, can be the hardest part. Sneak off this weekend and make a
few memories with your partner while you still can.
I'll cross my fingers for you Tuesday for a speedy and rock solid recovery.

Glenn, will you be getting a pre-op PSA? I'm just curious how much it rises
during 3 months after initial Dx.

What a great question! I have no idea, but I will ask. I would be
curious if only because of the confusion about what my PSA really was
at the time of diagnosis.

Steve,
Don't know if this is at all the standard. My PSA pre-biopsy was 2.6 in Feb,
04. My PSA on admission for the surgery in May, 04 was 3.8. I was told it
was not unusual for PSA to rise following the biopsy.

Yes, I know biopsy would take it up for a couple of weeks, but Glenn waited
a little longer than the rest of us before getting his surgery, and I was
just curious how much it went up in a short time. We here have always been
telling people that there is little risk in waiting. But, he went from 10
to 2.8, so I guess we still don't know.
